A West Sacramento master plan project on the shelf since the Great Recession looks to be getting active again. The city's planning commission on Thursday will discuss an extended development agreement for River Park, a project originally planned for more than 2,200 homes in the city's Southport area when it was approved in 2008. "Due to subsequent levee improvements associated with the Southport Sacramento River Early Implementation Project, the project was reduced from 494 acres to 373 acres, and the City's 2016 General Plan Update reflects the reduced size while retaining the previously approved land use and zoning designations," said Gene Endicott in an email.
